For that animation, there are two emitters. One for the particles that are 'randomly' floating around and another, which is the logo itself. The particles that are floating around are slowly emitted from a plane before the animation even started and I bumped up the brownian motion a bit to give them their random floating movement, that way, by the time the animation actually started the particles are already out there and moving around.
The emission of the particles on the logo itself were controlled by a cloud texture. I used keys to set when the texture would change to make the logo slowly change from all black to all white (or the other way around) and changed the settings of the texture in the material so that the texture effected alpha, then the logo would look like it disappeared.
The particles were supposed to look like they were dissolving off of the logo, but I did it incorrectly. The particles were just specially timed to look kinda like it. I could fix that now if I wanted to, I think.
I can go into more detail if you want, but it's midnight right now and I'm tired...
